Meet at Columbus Square Park in South Philly’s Passyunk neighborhood. We'll gather, then explore a bakery, learn about the hidden history of the Philly cheesesteak, discuss local public art, and get to know a lesser-known part of South Philly.
Once home to warehouses, Washington Avenue now hosts some of the city’s favorite eateries. We'll visit a legendary Vietnamese bakery and a longstanding Mexican restaurant known for its tacos.
At one of the longest-operating outdoor markets in the U.S., you'll hear stories of local businesses, visit a fourth-generation Italian bakery, a Jewish appetizing store, and have time to shop. The tour ends with a glass of wine supporting a historic Italian Market business.
